The Start of my Journey

This is the first complete character I sculpted within z-brush. I had been allowed to complete my one month long- traditionally 2d- anatomy course in z-brush after my proffessor discovered I was completing each assignment twice, once on paper, and once in z brush. This gave me an excellent head start to the introduction to z-brush course I took the following month, where my professor reviewed my work, and allowed me to skip the first week of class to create this under his guidance.

Expanding My Scope

Later during school I wanted to learn a possible pipeline I would use while working with characters in the game industry. I decided to sculpt a model, re-topo, rig, animate, bring to unreal engine, and then play the character in a demo world.

The Process of applying technical art to my own sculpt opened my eyes to how the decisions an artist creates will effect the rest of the pipeline. From chosen pose, to finger spread, I discovered many blind spots that would effect my ability to thrive within a team.
